Constructeurs et créateurs de spectacle vivant
La Machine est une compagnie de théâtre de rue née en 1999 et dirigée par François Delarozière. Elle est née de la collaboration d'artistes, techniciens et décorateurs de spectacles autour de la construction d'objets de spectacle atypiques. La Machine développe aujourd'hui de nombreux projets aussi bien dans le domaine de l'aménagement urbain (Grand Eléphant des Machines de l'Ile à Nantes, Manège Carré Sénart...) que celui du spectacle de rue (Mécaniques Savantes, Grand Répertoire des Machines, Symphonie Mécanique, Aéroflorale II...).

Au coeur de la démarche artistique de la compagnie La Machine, le mouvement est interprété comme un langage, comme source d'émotion. A travers chacune de ces architectures vivantes, il est question de rêver les villes de demain et de transformer ainsi le regard que nous portons sur nos cités.

Pour réaliser ses constructions, la compagnie La Machine s'est dotée de deux ateliers à Nantes et Tournefeuille. De multiples métiers y sont représentés du spectacle aux métiers d'art en passant par l'industrie et les technologies de pointe. L'homme et ses savoir-faire sont l'essence même du processus de création.

The street theatre company La Machine was founded in 1999 and is directed by François Delarozière. It came into being through the collaboration of stage artists, technicians and designers working together to build atypical performance objects. This work, which we are developing in public spaces, draws on and functions with primarily the realms of theatre, urbanism and architecture.
La Machine has today developed numerous projects not only in the realm of urban planning (the Great Elephant on the Ile de Nantes, the Manège Carré Sénart originally commissioned by the new town of Sénart, etc.), but also that of street shows (the Mécaniques Savantes, Le Grand Répertoire des Machines, La Symphonie Mécanique, L'Expédition Végétale, etc.)
La Machine further works in service of live performance by building for the sets of others and in constructing mechanical structures.

What is at the heart of the La Machine company's artistic approach is movement - interpreted as a language, as a source of emotion. Through each of these living architectures, the cities of tomorrow are dreamed of, changing the way we look at those we live in today.

The La Machine company has acquired two workshops, in Nantes and in Tournefeuille, to create its constructions. Several professions are represented there, ranging from those of the world of performance art, to artistic master crafts, without forgetting those of the realm of industry and the very latest technologies. Man and his know-how are the very essence of the creative process.
