“Drawing has always

” Drawing challenge the idea – What I draw exists for and by itself, free from any performing production; it is a sensitive language. However, it also a detailed trace enabling those in charge of construction to take ownership of a proposal…”

François Delaroziere – La Machine Compagny

“Drawing has always been an obvious necessity for me. Drawing challenge the idea – What I draw exists for and by itself, free from any performing production; it is a sensitive language. However, it also a detailed trace enabling those in charge of construction to take ownership of a proposal, the starting point for their work. In most of these drawings I practically anticipate the completion of the machines dreamt up with their dimensions, often large ones, as well as with their movements. These machines are purposely built to operate in the public space. One stroke leads to another and not necessarily where I thought they would to start with. I don’t come back to a drawing. If I stop drawing it, it is because it contains enough information to move on to the next step, which is construction”Text written by François Delaroziere, Art director of the company The Machine, created in 1999.
